There are things that are difficult to explain if you have never been a sailor.

One of them is the relationship between a sailor and his boat.

Because for a sailor, a boat is not simply a means of transportation. Nor is it just a working tool or a business.

It is so much more than that.

A sailor knows his boat. He knows how she behaves, how she sails, what she needs and what can be improved.

And the more time he spends aboard, the deeper that relationship becomes.

That is precisely what we feel with Tintamare, and what we want to share with you.

We did not buy Tintamare simply to charter her. We were not looking for a vessel that would allow us to run a business.

We wanted a boat to live aboard, to sail, and to continue building our own story at sea.

And ever since then, we have never stopped.

Every repair, every modification, every piece we design and build, every improvement we make carries with it a great deal of work, learning, testing and, above all, excitement.

A boat is where life unfolds. It is home, sailing companion, and the place from which you set off towards other shores, other seas and other worlds.

A boat can take you hundreds or thousands of miles away. It can cross oceans, face changing conditions, and become the place where you discover and experience a huge part of your life — and of yourself.

That is why the bond between a sailor and his boat can become so deep.

Perhaps it is something that is difficult to understand from the outside.

Because from the moment a sailor finds his boat, he begins to understand the challenges they will face together.

And when you see a sailor spending hours and hours working on his boat — repairing, sanding, welding, painting, building or improving something — you may ask yourself:

Why does he devote so much time to his boat?

The answer is simple.

Because that boat is an important part of his life. And, in many ways, a part of who he is.

It is about taking care of our home, our sailing companion, and a part of our own life.

That is why we continue improving her and adapting her to the way we live — and to welcome you aboard in comfort.
